Alcohol Infused Whipped Cream

Yes it is wine wednesday (I remembered for once) but I am not going to talk about wine...let's call this Whipped Wednesday. That's right I am talking about whipped cream. But this is not your average whipped cream, this is alcohol infused whipped cream. Don't worry you read it correctly. Alcohol Infused Whipped Cream!!!

This summer my mom had gone to visit my brother in Lexington, KY and she came back with all sorts of goodies including this whipped cream stuff. I was skeptical at first. Who needs alcohol in their whipped cream? Turns out, everyone does. This stuff is yummy!! It would be fabulous on coffee (iced or hot), hot chocolate, ice cream sundaes, you name it!! They have vanilla, chocolate, caramel, raspberry and cherry. Now they did NOT have the raspberry when I went to KY but I have no doubt it would be my favorite one! Vanilla is my favorite of the rest (I will admit I don't like normal chocolate all that much so I am a plain jane vanilla girl). And yes you can actually taste the alcohol. They come in bottles that look like hairspray bottles and they DO NOT need to be refrigerated. How awesome is that??

P.S. I love that you have to enter your birthdate on sites to prove you are 21. It is as if learning about alcohol will somehow make you drunk...I assume it is for ordering purposes though it does make me giggle.

I was watching Kathy Lee and Hoda this morning when suddenly they said something that really made me pay attention. They were talking about a warm cap for the winter that had speakers built into it so you didn't have to plug headphones in underneath them! Needless to say, I checked them out...

Introducing the iBEANi...These are different types of hats that can be worn during running, walking, sports, or just to keep your ears warm, and the headphones are built in!!

I personally like this headband kind...the headphones are right one the sides and the cord comes out the back of the headband so it doesn't bother you at all!! How awesome is that?? This one is $27.95 and is made of Dri-Fit (you know the work out stuff that dries quickly) so it can even get sweaty!  Click HERE for the website.

This next one is great for those who want their entire head covered! I am thinking boys maybe??

And he looks very tough...this one is $28.95 and is also made of the dri-fit material. Unfortunately they are running low on colors and it seems black is the only color left. But hey! How cool are they?? But if you are looking for bright colors you can still find them in this one!! The throw back 80s headband! The website says they even work with the old school cassette players!

These are only $24.95. Click HERE! So now the question is...which one do I get???

Let me start off by saying that I am now back in action and I'm sorry to have been MIA for what seems like yonks! It's been an incredibly busy couple of months recruiting for good ole A&M. But, now I have returned!

I found this product on pinterest a few months back and thought how cool would this be for Paul and his brothers since they have guitars glued to their sides.. not to mention the fact that I am constantly finding picks all around the house.. the washer, the dryer, on the floor, in the grass, in my car, in the dog's mouth, mostly in the dog's mouth.. just to name a few :)

But this little baby can be found on and it has some really neat, unique gifts. I know it looks like a stapler, but it is in fact, a Pick Punch. You can make guitar picks out of virtually anything.. old gift cards, credit cards, cardboard.. Annnd it's only 25 smackaroo's, not too shabby.. I think it would make a great stocking stuffer for that music lover.

Rock on, my friends.

I am a huge Rachael Ray fan. I think all of her cookware is so practical and it is quite cute! For side dishes I recommend her Bubble and Brown dishes...

copy cat night at the painted pig

Try as I might I am just not an artist. I like to call myself creative but not artistic. Therefore I decided it would be a blast to do a copy cat class at the Painted Pig--it is a paint your own pottery store here in Little Rock and it is too fun!! So my friend Erin and I took a bottle of champagne and entered the world of painting....

Here is what it was supposed to look like :)

Mine won't be ready for a while so you will all have to be very patient to see how it turns out!! Now I won't give you all the tips and tricks (you have to sign up for your own class!!) but it costs a measly $10 for the class and then the price of your pottery!!! Here is my "Funky Tree" platter in stages...

As you can see I took some creative license on the back. Ok I stole the purple idea from Erin (she painted hers green). They were originally all black. And then I added green and red polka dots! For christmas duh! And you know I can't do anything without my initials on it!! So hopefully when it is fired (that is what they call it when they put it in the kiln and heat it up) it will look all glossy and pretty like the example one! So to all you Little Rockians go to the Painted Pig website HERE and sign up for copy cat! The next one will be in January!!

perfect gifts for the men in your life

While snooping through groupon, one king's lane, living social, etc. I stumbled across the PERFECT christmas gift for the men in my life. My family is so big that for christmas we are assigned someone, that way we aren't spending billions of dollars getting a present for 28 people. whew. On our list we have two boys and when I saw this awesome stuff I knew it was a winner.

Right now groupon has a deal for $30 to grill An awesome site that has all kinds of grilling stuff with NCAA sports! Of course being from Arkansas I was intrigued by the Razorback stuff :)

First off we have the grill toppers themselves! Basically they are like art for food. You can stamp this razorback on burgers, chicken, steak, etc. This hamburger stamper is only $19.99

And then as if the burger one was not cute enough, they have the hot dog one!!! You can stamp the word razorbacks onto hot dogs or brats! The hot dog stamper is $17.99. Talk about great prices for gifts any sports fan will love!!!

They also have aprons, BBQ gloves, and grilling tools!!! $34.99, $18.99, and $21.99 respectively.

If you buy the groupon (you pay $15 and get $30 worth of stuff on then you have quite a steal here!! Click HERE for the groupon site!!! If you are NOT from Little Rock, the easiest way to find it is to go to the Little Rock Groupon Page and look down the right side and you will find it!!! or you can find it HERE. How cute is all this stuff!!! Don't worry, they have other schools too!!

Babs-they have an even cuter one for State!!! You could have lots of little M burgers!!!

How Shampoo Can Make You Not Blue...

The last time my friend Molly was in little rock she was a little down in the dumps. I suggested to her that she take a shower and use my "special shampoo". I told her I had shampoo that I used on special occasions to make myself feel better. I would use it before a date, wedding, or even when I was feeling blue. To my surprise Molly told me that she had a "special shampoo" too!!! Of course Molly and I always joke around about our similarities so it should not have been too surprising.

So what exactly is my special shampoo? It does not have magical powers but man it makes me feel good. I love love love Victoria Secret's So Sexy Shampoo and Conditioner. Yes the pantie place really does sell shampoo! who knew? Now the secret to making it fancy? It costs more than your average shampoo and conditioner. I think knowing that it is more expensive makes me stingy about using it so it makes it feel special! Also this stuff smells phenomenal!!! Yumm!!! And it lasts forever! I also use the hairspray to top it all off :)

I use the nourishing kind but they also have volumnizing and more flavors!  Unfortunately the Victoria's Secret site is down right now but hopefully this link will still take you there. Click HERE. These beauties run at about $12 a piece. So it is a splurge but it is well worth how it makes me feel! Who knew that shampoo could drag you out of the blues?!? If you aren't a fan of perfumed hair you can easily go to a saloon and see what all they have to offer! I am also a big fan of Halo products. Click HERE to see all of the Halo products. So go out and buy some fancy shampoo and make yourself feel special!!!

Keep all your cards and invites all together

I wish I could say that this was an original idea but alas, I found it on Pinterest. (Click HERE for the original blog!!) This is a super cute idea to keep all of your invites/cards together! This year is the year of weddings for me. I have been trying hard to keep all of the invitations together in this lovely shoe box...
But after seeing this super creative way of keeping them all together I abandoned the shoe box idea.
Really all you need is a hole punch and some binder rings...I found mine at office depot and got this colorful package for only $3.19...
Next step is to hole punch all of your cards! Now I used a single hole punch but if you want it to be book like it is much easier to use a real hole punch (that way all the holes are lined up exactly). As far as my wedding invitations went it ended up being easier just to do one big ring at the top--they were all different shapes and sizes so uniformity was out of the question. Here is what they look like all bound together!

As you can see I started off with 2 holes and ended up ditching one. I kept all the envelopes as well! Everything was just too pretty.

I also made one for birthday cards that had been sitting in a file folder and one for all the parties/wedding showers I have been invited to.
P.S. barbara-that ice cream card is from you!!!

I really love this whole concept. The original blog has them for christmas cards too and then she leaves them out of the coffee table for people to look through!! Such a great idea!!!

I also added thank you notes I received into the wedding parties pile too. Now in my book shelf I have a cute little row of cards and invites that will last forever!! Another great idea if you have doubles of pictures is to hole punch one corner and put them on a ring! Obviously they should be pictures that you don't mind being manhandled! Another idea? Menus!! People laugh at me because I LOVE to collect menus...why not put them on a ring too?? Oh the beauty of binder rings!! All in all this little project cost me about $5 (3 ish for rings and 2 for one hole punch). What a cute way to keep track of everything!!

from dark circles to no circles?

I am a creature of habit and therefor when I break my pattern bad things tend to happen. For example: Last night, instead of getting my normal 8 hours of sleep, I got 4 hours of sleep. Now this is obviously my own fault but man am I paying for it! The dark circles under my eyes are unbelievable. This obviously led me on a hunt to find the perfect dark circle remover...anyone have a favorite?? I am desperate!!

Let's start with the expensive ones first:

Dr. Brandt Dark Circles Away (sounds promising right?) $55
I must admit this little pen reminds me of some sort of highlighter (maybe that is the intent??). From the customer reviews people claim this bad boy works instantly. It claims to instantly lighten your eyes while doing some scientific stuff that I won't even pretend to understand. At this point though I am willing to try anything!! Click HERE for this product on Sephora.

Clinique All About The Eyes $29

Now we are getting somewhere. $29 is not too shabby if it does what it promises. This is a moisturizing gel that will brighten the under eye area. No fancy roller ball here. Just a little tub of gel. I am inclined to try this one because of my other successes with clinique (face wash, etc.) And as far as price goes this one is much closer to what I am looking for. Click HERE for this product on Sephora.

Bliss Triple Oxygen Energizing Eye Gel $50
So I have not done my Bliss post yet but I absolutely LOVE this stuff! I have used the triple oxygen energizing gel for your face (click HERE) and it is wonderful. It is like thousands of tiny bubbles are putting life back into your skin! It has a wonderful orange smell to it also. While $50 is not the greatest price ever, this tingling stuff is sooo addicting!! I might just have to try it! Did I mention that at Sephora you can get a sample of almost anything you want? Including perfume! But instead of spending lots of cash on different products to find the best one, you can get little samples made of all of them and test them out yourself! All you have to do is ask :) Click HERE for this product on Sephora.

Olay Total Effects Eye Cream $18
This product claims to defeat the signs of aging such as dark circles, crow's feet, etc. With the cost being only $18 I am tempted to try this on first. Products are funny things-do you buy the expensive one thinking it HAS to work better? Or the cheap one because it seems crazy to spend $80 on a tiny eye gel? Who knows! Whichever one works!! I will be going to Sephora today to get some little samples of eye gels and if they don't work I am hitting up Olay (which can be found almost anywhere).

How about you? Any dark circle undertakers out there???

He's making a list...

By now everyone has thought at least a little bit about christmas right? It is almost thanksgiving after-all. And everyone knows that one of the most important things about Christmas is your list! So here are a few of my favorite things to make lists on...and check them twice.

These come in all different colors, patterns, shapes, and more! You can even get them with magnetic backing so they stick straight to your fridge. Who wouldn't want to write a list on this fabulous stuff? The pack comes with 4 notepads, all bound up in a little clear folder so you can even keep track of your lists--I am notorious for making lists and then losing them just as quickly. So grab yourself some of these stylish notepads and make that Christmas List or Grocery List in style! $30 at

Mrs. Polka Dot Note Pads
Complete with preppy bow this over sized notepads are great for any kind of note! You can personalize them however you want for only $7.50 per pad! Check them out HERE

The Container Store Checklist
While this one is geared toward grocery shopping, it is far too cute to pass up! It folds up like a brochure and comes with the magnetic clip and pen! Then you take it with you to the supermarket and wipe clean when done. It is smart and eco-friendly! My mom will be getting one of these babies in her stocking ;) Only $9.99 HERE

Knock Knock Pads
The notepads from this company are hysterical! They range from pads with information from Doctor's Visits, Wine, Shit Lists, and even a Paper Vodoo Doll. These pads are just too funny to pass up. You can find them at the Container Store or click HERE for a complete list of all of their pads! My favorite thing is the menu planner folder from them! It keeps all of my to-do menus together and organized!

I am a BIG list maker so these are just a few of my go-to pads. I won't lie, I have a box at home that is full of different notepads. This kind of stuff just makes me so happy :)

Cure Chapped Lips In Style

Feeling a little ill from all the deviled eggs you ate yesterday? I know I am-which got me thinking about quick fix things for when you are feeling ill. Now I know chapped lips is not necessarily an illness but let's face it, when your lips are chapped it is awful! Especially if you are the type that will keep licking them with reckless abandon (me). So here are some of my favorite go to lip cures...

1. RoseBud Salve $6
While I like to pretend that I spend every minute of the day wondering around looking at fun products to try, the truth is I borrow some ideas from others--shocking I know. My dear friend Katie first gave me RoseBud Salve ions ago and I have been in love ever since. First of all it smells like HEAVEN (or what I imagine heaven smells like-roses). Second of all, while it looks pink it goes on clear, making your lips look glossy without color! Third of all, it is not just for your lips! You can put this puppy anywhere! I believe it even says it can be used on babies...I like to use it on chapped lips, hands, cheeks, you name it. I also like that it doesn't have a slimy or oily texture. And as if it couldn't get any better, they make it in tube form!!! Now I have not tried the tube-I really like the old can like thingy but this tube might be even better! Guess where it can be found? Sephora. You win. Click HERE to buy!

2. Mentha Lip Balm $7.50

If you are a fan of the minty flavored balms check out this one from Bath and Body Works. It is all natural mint flavored and does not leave your lips stingy. It comes in many different forms like balm or gloss. Try either and you will be happy! Again no colors involved-just a subtly touch of mint! Click HERE to buy.

As far as grocery store brands go, I like two kinds:
3. Soft Lips Cherry: Just like the name says this stuff is just so darn soft! And it comes in a thin sleek little tube that makes you feel like you have fancy chap-stick, even when you are not paying much at all!
4. Chapstick Moisturizer: the tried and true chapstick works like a charm. I cannot tell you how many I have of these lost in the depths of my car...but at 99 cents it is hard to pass them up!

So there they are, my favorite lip savers of all time. Anyone else have any favorites? You know me, I am always looking for a new product to love!!

National Deviled Egg Day

Per the cooking guru Rachael Ray, today is National Deviled Egg Day! Who doesn't love a good deviled egg?? When I was little they were one of the few things I knew how to make! So today I will share with you the deviled egg recipe I know in my head and then the super creative yummy one from RR and then a healthy one! Yay for DEVILED EGGS!

Photo Courtesy of Pinch My Salt blog-her recipe for deviled eggs is the same as mine! yay! Click HERE for her blog!

P.S. Check out Rachael's Sitting Pretty Deviled Egg holder!!! Eeek!! I want one in eggplant of course!!!

Megan's Deviled Eggs
6 Hard Boiled Eggs
1-2 Big spoonfuls of mayo
1 spoonful of mustard (yellow)
1 spoonful of white vinegar--go easy on this if you don like vinegar so much
salt and pepper
spicy spanish paprika on top

RR says that to boil the PERFECT hard boiled egg is to put the eggs in cold water, bring to a rolling boil, pop a lid on it and turn the heat off and let sit for 10 minutes. Roll the eggs around a bit in cold water. Voila!

Cut eggs in half and scoop out the insides and put in a bowl. Now depending on how thick you like your deviled eggs scoop in mayo and mustard to your liking. Add vinegar-which will make it thinner beware! Add salt and pepper to taste! Put all the goop in a ziploc baggie and cut off a corner. Pipe it into the egg halves and top with paprika! easy peasy!

Rachael Ray's Spicy Deviled Eggs      click HERE for full recipe from her site!

  • 1 dozen large organic eggs, such as Eggland's Best
  • 2 tablespoons grated onion
  • 1 clove garlic, pasted or grated
  • 2 tablespoons pickle relish, such as Heinz
  • About 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon mustard, yellow or Dijon
  • 2 teaspoons to 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 3 to 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • Thinly sliced red chili pepper, such as small Fresno chilies, for garnish

Place eggs in a pot, cover with water and bring to full boil. Turn off heat, cover pot and let stand 10 minutes.
Drain, crack eggs by shaking pot and run under cold water until cool enough to handle.
Peel eggs and halve lengthwise or trim tops and remove yolks to present eggs upright. You should have 12 upright eggs or 24 halved eggs.
To the hardboiled egg yolks, add grated onion, grating directly over bowl to catch the onion juice, garlic, relish, Worcestershire, mustard, hot sauce, salt, pepper, paprika, mayo – a few tablespoons to start, mash to very smooth, adding a bit more if too dry.
Cut a corner off a ziplock bag and fill with the deviled filling. Pipe into egg whites and garnish with a bulls-eye of thinly sliced red chili pepper

Here is her egg tray without the ole eggs! She says you can put stuffed mushrooms or potatoes in here too! Super!

Healthy Deviled Eggs-Dukan Diet Style

Similar to my recipe above, but you use non fat greek yogurt instead of mayo. Since greek yogurt really doesn't have a taste make sure you season everything well! And I would go shy on the vinegar just in case--yogurt is not nearly as thick as mayo! **I have used FF sour cream too. Def not the same as mayo but really not too bad!
