C. Wonder Bag

I am sure you know by now that I am a product junkie. It is a sickness. A bad one. And because of this sickness I just can't help myself when I see someone else with a fabulous product...I want it too!!! This one I stole from my favorite monogrammed gal Mrs. Polka Dot :)

C. Wonder is a company that is apparently Tory Burch's ex hubby's store. Not only does it have ultra cute things but the prices are SUPERB! Their nylon easy tote is the topic of discussion now. It comes in two different sizes (I wanted the big one, duh). AND Mrs. Polka Dot is monogramming it for me! Eeeek!!! Did I mention she has a website now??? Click HERE for it!

Here is the one I ordered! It is "flame" colored! Pardon the ghetto iphone snapshot...but how cute is that?!?!

Here is a pic of G's monogrammed one too! I am so excited I can't stand it! The PERFECT carryall bag! Click HERE for the C. Wonder site. Did I mention that they have the BEST customer service ever?? SO NICE! I called to order my bag from the store in the Hamptons and they were very lovely :)

Bargain Shopping: Shampoo and Conditioner

Every once in a while I go through phases where I feel I need to budget my life. Now that I have my big girl job I REALLY need to budget my life. But where to start? I formed a big fat budget with my dad (to be posted later) that is all about rent, gas, expenses, yada yada yada. All of this has started some thinking about all of the crazy products I buy. Am I going to stop buying them? Of course not, let's be real about it. BUT I have thought of ways to cut back on the price without cutting back on the product :)

Thankfully we live in a world of copycats. Now you can buy the Wal-Mart, Walgreen or even Target brands of our favorite every day products. And guess what! They are cheaper! The age ole question is "are they the same things?" ANSWER: YES!!! It is all the packaging. So here is a first of the many bargaining deals I have found.

Shampoo and Conditioner--I know what you are thinking...is all that REALLY that expensive to begin with? Well no, but hey every dollar counts! My new favorite products are made by Suave (yes really, I said Suave) and they are the copycat versions of Aveda. It smells FABULOUS and it is crazy inexpensive. At Wal-Mart it is $1.97. That's right! Under $2 big ones for shampoo!!! Think of how much you will save in the grand scheme of things! THIS blogger even goes to show how you can use this shampoo to get the hair of Victoria's Secret Models. SCORE!

Just to put things into perspective...Aveda sells their Rosemary Mint shampoo for $10.50. Yowzers. So now we really can believe that whole line about "saloon quality without the saloon prices". P.S. I used this shampoo tonight and my hair smells and feels like I just went to the saloon. NO LIE!

Crock Pot Chicken and Rice

The crock pot is the best method for cooking when you don't have much time. One of my all time favorite recipes is for Chicken and Rice. So here it goes!

Ingredients:
Long Grain Brown Rice--healthier right?
1 can Cream of Mushroom Soup
1-2 cans Cream of Chicken Soup
1 can Cream of Celery Soup
1 Package of French Onion Soup Mix
Boneless skinless chicken breast

Now is the difficult part (what, no one mentioned anything about it being difficult): Put all of the ingredients in the crock pot :)

I put the rice in first. I use a whole bag but I like the ricey part the best. So use 1 or 2 cups depending on how many people you are serving. Since I did a whole bag of rice I did 2 cans of the cream of chicken soup. Pour in the onion soup mix and give a stir.

Cut the chicken into bite size pieces (easier to serve) and then throw them on top. Give a big stir and make sure they are all mixed up. Add a little salt and pepper--maybe some cavenders too. Set on high for 4 hours or maybe even 6. Obviously it is not a strict recipe at all. Set it on low for 8 hours if you need to! Check it after a while and make sure the chicken is cooked. And wa-la! Chicken and Rice! The beauty of it is you don't need a side!

PS if you have mushrooms on hand toss them in too!!

Dreaming Tree Wine

The one and only Dave Mathews has a plethora of talents. One of my favorites is that he has his own wine. I might even venture to say that I like his wine better than his music (gasps and screams of despair are expected). But seriously, his wine is great!! It is called Dreaming Tree (come on, how much more DMB does THAT get??). He makes Chardonnay, Merlot and much more! And guess what! It is affordable!!!! Dreaming Tree is only $15 a bottle! Remember my whole chit chat about how now that I am older I can't be stingy on the wine? So here we have a great price!!!

My personal favorite is the Cab Sav...The website states: "Classic aromas of blackberry, cherry, and dry herb notes are wrapped by toasted vanilla and soft, mouth-filling tannins. It’s elegant and supple." Yummo!!! Your mouth is watering right?
And the Chardonnay and Crush are great too!!

So the next time you are at the liquor store and see this ole tree, grab some, put on some tunes and you are good to go!
